MICRONEEDLING WITH ACUPUNCTURE

Welcome to our holistic skincare service, where we blend the ancient wisdom of acupuncture with the innovative technique of microneedling to enhance your natural beauty and well-being.

Microneedling is the penetration of the skin with tiny, short, and solid needles.  Modern-day microneedling draws its roots from the ancient Chinese practice of plum blossom therapy, a method within the traditional Chinese medical heritage. A stamping device equipped with fine needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These tiny punctures stimulate the body's innate healing response, promoting increased blood flow, Qi (pronounced "chee") circulation, and collagen production. This unique approach not only revitalizes your skin but also balances your body's energy, leaving you feeling refreshed inside and out.

We use the ProCell microneedling device, a cutting-edge skincare tool that uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. This process, known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), stimulates the body's natural healing response, boosting collagen and elastin production for skin rejuvenation. The ProCell device is highly customizable, allowing for tailored treatments to address various skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven texture. Its Microchanneling technology enhances the absorption of topical serums and growth factors, making the treatment even more effective.

FAQs

1. What are the effects and benefits of microneedling (i.e. what will it do for me?)

  • Improves skin texture

  • Reduces scarring

  • Wrinkle and fine line reduction

  • Pore size reduction

  • Evens out skin tone

  • Enhances skin elasticity

  • Improves product absorption

  • Reduces stretch marks

It's important to note that individual results may vary, and the extent of improvement depends on factors such as the specific skin concern, the number of sessions, and the individual's skin type.

2. Does it hurt? Many people describe microneedling as a sensation of mild discomfort or a tingling feeling rather than intense pain. The needles used in the procedure are very fine, so the discomfort is usually tolerable.

3. How many sessions will I need? The number of sessions required varies based on your skin concerns. Typically, a series of at least three treatments is recommended for optimal results, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

4. Is there any downtime? After the microneedling session, you may experience redness, warmth, and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn for about 90 minutes. This is a normal part of the healing process and usually subsides quickly.

5. How is microneedling with an acupuncturist different than with an M.D. or esthetician? Acupuncturists who offer microneedling have a background in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. We integrate microneedling into our practice as a holistic approach to skin rejuvenation. Our focus includes balancing energy and addressing underlying health issues with acupuncture while improving skin quality.
